Dr. Philip A. Glotzbach is a distinguished leader in American higher education, serving as president of Skidmore College for 17 years. During his tenure, he advanced major initiatives that strengthened academic programs, expanded student diversity, improved financial stability and aid resources, and enhanced campus facilities. Under his leadership, Skidmore earned national recognition as a respected liberal arts institution.
Prior to Skidmore, Dr. Glotzbach held senior leadership roles at the University of Redlands as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and later as Vice President for Academic Affairs. He began his academic career in philosophy at Denison University, where he taught for 15 years. He is widely recognized for his expertise in institutional governance and the enduring value of a liberal arts education.
